Best Wii Games

MMO for Wii? 05/27/2008

Creative director of EA Mythic, Paul Barnett, in his interview with CVG, told that Nintendo has the best chance of making the first successful console MMO.
Let us not argue on whether it is correct or not, but rather lets give it a second thought.

The question is whether someone will want an MMO on Wii? If you said yes, you also need to ask yourself if you like it to be something that has ties with Nintendo. Maybe you would just like it to be any game? Here’s some food for your thought!

In his latest interview with the New York Times, Shigeru Miyamoto was profiled as well. Apparently, he was not asked questions only regarding Wii Fit.  The article highlights the influence and supposed greatness of Miyamoto. This article also quotes Informer's Andy McNamara and Disney Interactive's Graham Hopper.

Miyamoto also discusses how gardening was the inspiration behind Pikmin and how a scale sprouted the idea of Wii Fit. He accepts the difference in his current designs and what he produced in last five years. He said that previously he used his imagination more where as now he looks the aspects of his life for inspiration. Next year’s highlight may well be – Wii Make Games.

Pitfall 05/20/2008

The retro video game revival is in full swing these days.  New takes on games from older consoles are in development at a number of design studios, but there's nothing right now to top this bad boy.  Activision has announced that Pitfall is coming to the Wii some time in the near future, suggesting that one of the best Atari games may become one of the best Wii games.

This Pitfall game will be a Wii exclusive, so ha-ha to all the Xbox 360 and PS3 owners.  According to Activision, Pitfall: The Lost Expedition will have over 60 levels, but besides that little nugget, little is known about the title at the time.  I'm sure this will get more press as the release date nears.  Possibly one of the best Wii games, or one of the biggest Wii duds?  Fingers crossed.

We've been through this before.  Someone gets online and "leaks" the word that Castlevania's coming to the Wii.  Everyone gets all frothy at the mouth and the hope starts rising like a hot air balloon, which is kinda appropriate considering the stories are false or misinformed, but we still end up getting excited about what could be one of the best Wii games.  Seems like all that's changed this time.

EGM's heard a rumor that Castlevania Judgement will be coming to the Nintendo DS and the Wii.  The evidence this time is that the name has been registered as a trademark, so it looks like this is a project in motion.  I can already see it ranking as one of the best Wii games.  Please, please, please!  I'm itching to use that Wiimote as a whip, cracking vampires right in their sharp-toothed kissers.
